Architecturally hip hop, 2015

"It would be hard to put into words what hip hop and architecture means. You cannot understand music by writing about it, you have to hear it, dance to it, play it or sing it.

This goes for architecture; the untrained eye cannot analyze architecture but the mind, body and soul have experienced dwellings since the day they were born. Those intrigued and ready will not just help define the terms but play a role in its physical manifestation in this realm. As your eyes move around and your body adjusts to its atmosphere that was created for the African diaspora, you begin to be greeted with a blend of elements, colors, patterns and materials not bound by origin but a juxtaposition that is both pleasing and thrilling to the senses.

Architecturally Hip Hop weaves the story of Hip Hop into a minimalist interior that incorporates the five elements of Hip Hop; MC, DJ, B Boy +Girl, Graffitti & Knowledge."
